Roman Garrido

Managing Director

Roman has more than 24 years’ experience in engineering and construction, and a highly-regarded and successful history of strategic management, executive leadership and the development of new markets and opportunities.

Roman has significant international experience in the construction of major highway, bridge, tunnel, transit and building projects, as well as the design and construction of highway and bridge projects for public-private partnership (PPP) ventures.

As Managing Director, Roman is leading the transformation of CPB Contractors into a more focused and sustainable construction company, with the scale and capability to compete internationally.

Together with senior leadership, Roman is working to make the company more efficient, improve its work winning and project delivery, and strengthen the balance sheet.

Before joining CPB Contractors, Roman was Deputy Managing Director of John Holland (JHG), where his responsibilities included the development of a new strategic approach that in December 2014 assisted in the execution of a binding Share Sale Agreement with CCCC International Holding Limited (CCCI), under which CCCI will acquire the business and assets of JHG.

Prior to this appointment, Roman was Dragados, S.A.’s Managing Director of Australia and Dragados’ Managing Director of the United States and Canada.

Roman has a Masters in Civil Engineering Education from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and is a member of the National Society of Civil Engineers (Spain).

Jason Spears

Executive General Manager, Major Projects & NSW

Jason Spears has 25 years’ experience working in Australia and internationally as a professional engineer and business leader in the Resource, Civil Infrastructure and Building Sectors.

Jason commenced with Thiess, a CIMIC Group company, in 1999. Since then he has led successful outcomes on major projects and demonstrated exceptional leadership and management skills across all phases of strategy, business development, tendering and project delivery.

His strong focus on safety and disciplined project controls has resulted in project certainty and value for money outcomes for clients, as well as business growth and improved profitability for the company.

Roberto Gallardo, formerly Deputy Managing Director of Pacific Partnerships, is responsible for CPB Contractors’ construction operations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory and for our subsidiary Broad. Roberto brings construction, operations, strategy and business development experience to the role.

Douglas Thompson, formerly Executive General Manager of Australia and Pacific operations at Thiess, is responsible for CPB Contractors’ construction operations in Queensland, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. Douglas has a strong industry reputation for driving operational excellence, building strong teams and delivering value to clients.

Rod Heale

Executive General Manager, Vic, SA & Tas

Rod Heale has over 30 years of civil engineering experience and for more than a decade has led the delivery of large and complex engineering projects throughout Australia.

As CPB Contractors’ Executive General Manager, Vic, SA & Tas, Rod is responsible for the delivery of significant, multi-disciplined infrastructure projects spanning all key sectors of the construction industry.

Before joining CPB Contractors, Rod worked with CIMIC Group companies Thiess as a General Manager within its construction division and Leighton Asia in Hong Kong to deliver three incrementally launched bridges.

With a reputation for commercial and contractual acumen and expertise, Rod also has a strong focus on people leadership and communication. He leads by example with the skills and willingness to engage with people towards improved individual, team and company performance outcomes.

Rod holds a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Civil), Master of Construction Law and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Fellow at the Institute of Engineers Australia.

Pedro Vicente

Executive General Manager, Asia

Pedro Vicente joined Asia in 2015 as Executive General Manager South East Asia and India. He has over 20 years of international experience in the general contracting industry throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Africa.

Prior to joining the company, Pedro held several key international management roles, including Dragados S.A. Project Director, and Area Manager and Director; Dragados Canada Executive Vice President and Operations Manager; and Dragados Australia Executive General Manager, Director and Secretary.

Pedro holds a Master in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid in Spain and is a member of the Spanish Association of Civil Engineers.

Stefan Camphausen

Chief Financial Officer

Stefan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Essen, Germany and a Master of Business Administration from NIMBAS-Bradford Graduate School of Management in the Netherlands.

Over the past 16 years, he has held senior finance roles across various industries. He joined HOCHTIEF in Germany in 2006 and was appointed CFO and an Executive Board Member for HOCHTIEF Poland in 2010. He migrated to Australia in 2012 and joined CIMIC as General Manager, Controlling, playing a key role in re-engineering the Group’s business performance management processes and business intelligence tools.

Stefan was appointed CFO of Thiess in August 2014 and joined CPB Contractors in October 2016.
